Royal Waterloo Golf Courses

La Marache Par 73 6235 Metres
Le Lion Par 72 6215 Metres

The Royal Waterloo Golf Club was created in 1923 and is based in Ohain, less than 25 Kms from Brussels, since 1960. The complex, which extends over 370 acres, has two 18 hole courses and one 9-hole course with incomparable greens and fairways. The club belongs to the heirs of Wellington.

Set in beautiful countryside, Royal Waterloo boasts two testing par-72 courses and a terrific ‘nine-hole warmer’. La Marache eighteen is 6,800 yards and has some really super holes. The back nine is more testing with a pretty tough finish – the two closing holes are both par fives, not particularly long but tricky with well-trapped greens. Le Lion is similar in length to La Marache but the designer made more use of water on several of the holes, meaning that both courses offer a different type of challenge.

‘La Marache’ created by Fred Hawtree in 1959, is the oldest of the three. It lies in a wooded and rolling landscape that is not short on traps. The ‘Le Lion’ course, designed in 1985 by P. Rolin, also offers several historic holes with views of the famous Waterloo Lion Mound.

From the large terrace of the clubhouse, golfers can admire the fairways of ‘La Marache’ and the wooded hills and dales of the Lasne valley. Many professional tournaments are held here.

Facilities at The Royal Waterloo Golf Club include: Clubhouse, pro-shop, driving range, putting green, pitching green.
